Rebecca Johnston is a newspaper columnist and former editor with a published collection of her columns, "Hometown Holidays, Memories Throughout the Year," available on amazon.com. Her weekly column for the Cherokee Tribune takes a look at history and offers personal insights. Rebecca also appears on a cable television talk show in the Atlanta area, "The Civility Hour," where she tackles everything from national politics to etiquette to topics of the day. A graduate of the University of Georgia with a bachelor's degree in fine arts, Rebecca enjoys writing about issues as diverse as health, food and finances. She is also a professional travel consultant and loves to combine her passion for traveling the globe with her writing. She is married to her high school sweetheart, Harry Johnston, a local elected politician, and they have two grown children. Rebecca has won numerous professional awards including best serious columnist from the Georgia Press Association in 2007. Presently she is working on a local history book which she expects to see published in 2010.
